DJ K2 is a mixing artist and producer in NYC.  Born in Baltimore, he has been making music for 25+ years, primarily as a drummer/percussionist in a number of bands, and has made it not only a mission to share his favorite tracks with club-goers, but also to create space for those interested in breaking into the NYC and Detroit techno scenes.  On “Le Night Club,” his monthly residency program at Hi-Note Radio in Manhattan, K2 invites artists looking for a platform to explore and experiment with mixing in a B2B format.  With 21 episodes and counting, it’s proven to be a great incubator for spontaneously creative and genuine mixes, sitting mainly in the techno/house/breakbeat genres.  In 2025, K2 was invited to join the record label Minimal Detroit, founded by techno pioneer Terrence Dixon.  In 2026, the idea to create a DET/NYC city swap show series became reality with Minimal Detroit.  In this series, mainstays from each of the local scenes are invited to the alternate city to break into a new scene in an environment that is fully based in the spirit of collaboration, connecting, and exploring the artistic possibilities that reveal themselves by simply creating space for it.  Catch him at SPKRBOX in Detroit on one of Minimal Detroit’s SPKR People series or monthly residency at hnt.fm every third Thursday from 8-10p and (hopefully) at a club in your city.
